Jazz Drums

Jazz drums refer more to a different style of drumming rather than a change in the type of drum. There are many different eras of jazz music that are reflected in all the instruments, including the drums. The styles affected the musicians and their composition and play.

Jazz drums are sold in any music store. Just like a fiddle is a violin, jazz drums are regular drum sets with the style of play affecting the type of instrument. Search online and in local retail music stores for the type of drum desired.

Jazz drums can be taught by percussion teachers. Check with the instructor to see if he or she is familiar with the different types of jazz and how they affect the way percussion is played. A unique style of music may be just what a student is looking for.
